Paper Weaving Craft Project

Hello Stampers ~ I have a pretty Paper Weaving Craft Project for you today.

I got everything on my list from yesterday completed. I also got a few other projects completed. I have the bed frame up and the headboard is all clean and sitting in the room. I am going to attach the head board to the frame using bolts. I will measure how long it needs to be and go to Lowe’s and see if I can find the size I need. It is going to take a creative way to attach the foot board to the frame. The holes on the foot board and the bed frame do not line up. I am thinking I can get a board and attach the it to the foot board using an L bracket and then attach the foot board to the board. Not sure it will work so I have to see what will work. This will be an area I will need Doug’s help with.

I saw an idea online and knew I wanted to make my version. I am great for finding things like this and seeing if I can do it with our supplies. I began my making a tent fold card as it will not work with the other fold. Then I used the Delicate Lace edgelits to cut the pattern on the card front. Then I cut some 1/4″ Basic Black strips. Using my grid sheet I attached 5 of the strips to the card front on the left hand side of the card front. You don’t want to glue it down too far or you won’t be able to weave your vertical strip in. So add just a little glue enough to hold the strip in place. Let the glue set a bit so the strip does not slip when you weave in the other one. To do the weaving add glue along the strip and then beginning at top you go over the first strip, under the next strip, over the third strip, under the fourth strip, and over the last strip. For the second strip you begin at the top and this time go under the first strip, over the next strip, under the third strip, over the fourth strip, and under the last strip. For the final strip you begin at the top and go over the first strip, under the next strip, over the third strip, under the fourth strip, and over the last strip. After I had all the strips woven in I went back and added some glue to the ends to hold all the strips in place. The original card had a vine the creator made. I used the Bouquet Bunch framelit and cut 4 of the leaf sprays. I glued this to the card front so it looked like a large leaf spray. The flowers are from Pop of Petals ~ did you see my online card class for this stamp set? ~ and were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Real Red card stock. I fussy cut the flowers out and then added them to the card front using glue dots. Here is my completed Paper Weaving Craft Project.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you. The original card had a sentiment that the vertical strip went through. I opted to not include the sentiment and used a fancy border at the bottom. You can do it either way. Have a Super Saturday and what did you think of my Paper Weaving Craft Project?
